Our Centers are in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, Fujairah, Doha, Saudi (males only) and Oman. There are very few vacancies in Dubai and the cost of living is higher than the other Emirates, Saudi or Oman.
For your information, at ELS, our students range from children (8yrs plus) to adults, learning Basic English through to Business English. Our program runs on a 4 week cycle, and tends, due to the Middle East culture, to be a split shift with morning and evening classes. Most classes are held in the Center premises, and these are situated across the Middle East, including UAE, and Oman. Some classes are held at satellite centers or in business premises.
A full time teacher usually has 30 teaching hours plus preparation/administration time. These are likely as mentioned above to be on the split shift. Salary depends on experience, added to which is housing, travel allowance, medical and a teacher development program and on a two year contract, a return flight after 12 months, plus an annual gratuity.
Obviously the weather is lovely; it is a cultural experience and an opportunity to be an ‘ambassador’ for western culture, whilst learning something of the local culture. Most of our Centers are ideally placed for water sports, beach life, and for an enjoyable way of life!
