3-month contract (210 hours over the 3-month period)
Start dates in 2008 are:It is crucial that teachers arrive in Vietnam a couple of days before this date to get settled and be ready to start the induction on the above dates. Inductions are planned to start on these dates and are non-negotiable. Please note: these are the dates to start work, not to arrive in the country.
Teachers are contracted for 210 teaching hours over the 3 months. Overtime is calculated and paid at the end of the contract on any teaching hours over the 210 contracted hours.
Teachers are expected to teach a range of programs, including the young learner summer program and the adult public program, as well as the extra curricular activities program. Opportunities are also available to work at our summer camps (two weeks at a residential camp for young learners). Teachers also need to be aware that there are some off-site courses, particularly in HCMC, and although they may be required to teach across the range of courses that we provide, the focus is likely to be on young learners.
Classes are scheduled from 7.30am to 9.45pm Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 7:30pm on Saturday, and 7:45am to 6:00pm on Sunday; teachers may be scheduled anytime during these hours, over a 5 or 6 day timetable. Generally, teachers are timetabled to work a 5-day week, with two consecutive days off.
We offer an attractive 3-month package for full time summer teachers, with less teaching hours than previous years, to leave ample time for exploring the city and getting a feel for the culture and people.
